Vireo

Multi-beam Communications Payload

Overview

A complete solution for uplink and downlink operations from LEO, the Vireo payload supports to 8-beam operation with independently steerable, shapable beams. Jam resistant and reconfigurable on-orbit to meet evolving threats.

Key Features

High-Capacity Communications

Payload design minimizes the number of unique subassemblies across the aperture and constellation, further lowering cost and complexity.

Large-Constellation Ready

Dedicated frequencies for transmit and receive enable simultaneous uplink and downlink to every user.

Full-Duplex Operation

Divide RF power among beams, flexibility defining per-beam allocation to provide improved quality of service.

Fast Beam-Hopping

Near-instantaneous beam-hopping further divides each beam in time, allowing capacity to be shared and focused across the field of view, maximizing throughput and quality of service to specific regions.

Modular Architecture

Architecture meets requirements for element spacing, power levels, and environmental performance to commercial, civil, and defense
applications.

Jam Resistant

Apply pattern nulls to cancel interfering signals, improving signal-to-noise ratio.
